The epidemic is still the biggest threat to China's economy and global economic recovery. The mutated new coronavirus strain and the situation of multi-point recurrence all hinder the transportation and personnel exchanges between countries, and make the development process of world foreign trade face many obstacles. "Whether the epidemic can be effectively controlled in 2022 is still unknown. Recently, the epidemic has rebounded in Europe, America and some developing countries. It is still difficult to predict the virus variation and epidemic development trend during the year." Liu Yingkui, vice president and researcher of the Research Institute of the China Council for the promotion of international trade, analyzed in an interview with the China economic times that the epidemic not only blocked logistics and trade, but also reduced the demand in the international market and affected exports.

"China's unique institutional advantages provide a strong guarantee for combating the epidemic and maintaining the safety of the industrial chain and supply chain. At the same time, China's complete industrial system and huge production capacity provide a solid industrial foundation for trade development." Liu Yingkui believes that China's persistent opening-up strategy and efficient trade promotion policies have provided strong policy support for the stable development of foreign trade. In addition, the reform of "release, management and service" has been further promoted, the business environment has been continuously optimized, the trade cost has been reduced, and the efficiency of trade management has been improved day by day.

"China has the most complete production chain. On the basis of effective epidemic prevention and control, it took the lead in resuming work and production. It has not only maintained its existing advantages, but also cultivated some new advantageous industries. This momentum will continue in 2022. If China's domestic epidemic can be effectively controlled, China's exports will be relatively stable and increase slightly this year." Wang Xiaosong, a researcher at the National Institute of development and strategy of Renmin University of China, believes that.

Although China has enough confidence to deal with challenges and pressures, it still needs to continuously optimize policies and measures to support and ensure the stability and smoothness of the supply chain of the foreign trade industry chain. There is still much room for the improvement of the business environment. For enterprises, they also need to constantly innovate and go out of their own characteristics. "China is facing serious external uncertainty, so it is very important to maintain its own industrial security. Therefore, all sectors of China need to strengthen independent research and development, strive to achieve independence for industries and products that currently rely on imports and are controlled by others, further improve its own industrial chain, continuously improve its industrial competitiveness and become a real trading power on the premise of ensuring safety. ”Wang Xiaosong said.
